From Man-to-Man to Zone

The Desrosiers shift from athletic competition to family collaboration, all while shaping the Windham community.

Collaboration. Camaraderie. Competition. The Desrosiers family embodies all three. Meet Carson and Alex Desrosiers, their two boys, Kit (3) and Lincoln (1), and their beloved dog, Gizmo. The family recently welcomed their newest addition, a baby girl named Cameron, as they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.

Though the Desrosiers family has lived in Windham for the past five years, the town has always been home for Carson. After years away for school and professional basketball in Finland, he and Alex knew Windham was the perfect place to raise a family and give back to the community that shaped him.

The couple first met in high school and got married in a beautiful backyard Windham wedding during the COVID pandemic. They were drawn to the small-town charm and the community's close-knit feel. To boot, it's perfectly located for both coastal and mountainous getaways. Lake Winnipesaukee is a family favorite.
Alex wears many hats in town. She’s a Realtor, serves on the board of the Windham Moms Alliance, and teaches Pilates classes at C_Wickson Studios. “Health and connection go hand in hand,” she says. “I love helping people find movement they enjoy, and the community that comes with it.”

Staying active is a family affair for the Desrosiers. Whether it’s a family workout, a trip to the playground, or cheering on the Windham High Jaguars, where Carson serves as the boys’ varsity basketball coach, their days are filled with movement and togetherness. With three little ones now in tow, life is wonderfully full. “We’ve officially switched to a zone defense,” Carson laughs, “but we are having a ton of fun.”

Carson teaches seventh-grade social studies in Lowell and takes great pride in leading the Jaguars hoops program. You’ll often spot Kit and Lincoln at practices and games as the team’s unofficial mascots. Each summer, he also runs the NEA Wildcats Basketball Camp, now entering its fourth year, helping local kids build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for the game.

Before coaching, Carson and Alex were both Division I college athletes, with Carson playing basketball at Wake Forest and Providence College and Alex playing lacrosse at the University of Delaware. Now they channel that same drive to inspire an active lifestyle and foster an enriching community.

Between teaching, coaching, real estate, and community involvement, the Desrosiers family is making a lasting impact on Windham. If you see them out and about - at the gym, on the court, or around town - be sure to say hello!
