Windham High School Earns Gold Status on 2025 AP Honor Roll

Windham High School has been recognized as a Gold School on the 2025 AP Honor Roll, placing it among a select group of institutions nationally acknowledged for outstanding student participation and performance in Advanced Placement coursework.

The AP Honor Roll is awarded across four tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum — and recognizes schools where students engage broadly with AP courses as a pathway toward college readiness. Windham's Gold designation reflects both the accessibility of AP programming at the school and the academic rigor its students have embraced.

Principal Shannan McKenna called the distinction a milestone for the entire school community. "Earning the 2025 AP Honor Roll Gold Distinction is a tremendous honor for our school and a reflection of the collective commitment to academic excellence," she said.

The numbers behind the recognition are striking. This past year, 308 Windham High students completed 657 AP exams, with 87 percent scoring a 3 or higher; the threshold generally considered passing. That translates to 269 students earning scores that colleges may accept for credit or advanced standing.

McKenna credited the achievement to the full range of people invested in student success. "Our school's success is a reflection of our dedicated teachers, counselors, administrators, students, and parents who work tirelessly to support rigorous learning," she said.

Beyond the award itself, school officials say the expansion of AP access has had a tangible impact on students' academic trajectories. Giving more of them the opportunity to experience college-level work before they graduate.
